Special Situations Credits

We provide highly structured credits satisfying acute capital structure needs on a short timeline.

What we do

We navigate complex capital structures, short timelines, and discrete financing needs to provide creative credit solutions.

Uncorrelated

Through various market cycles, special situations credit opportunities present themselves without notice.  We respond dynamically and move forward with conviction to invest in opportunities generally uncorrelated with the broader market.

Agility

Leveraging our extensive credit and structuring expertise, we can respond quickly where we have a competitive edge to strategically invest capital on short notice.

Expertise

Our credit expertise is supported with significant domain knowledge in multiple industries allowing us to identify and underwrite attractive opportunities where others can not compete.

Targeted Investments

Recapitalizations

We are able to coexist and work with multiple capital providers and stakeholders or alternatively overhaul a complex and limiting capital structure with a single counter party solution.

Rescue Finance

We can invest when others will not, or cannot, by inefficient or limiting capital structures and focusing on operating performance, near-term catalysts, and long-term value.

Event Driven

We are long term partners able to support companies through macroeconomic or industry specific market shocks requiring creative and expedient capital structure solutions.

We can invest when others will not, or cannot, by understanding inefficient or limiting capital structures and focusing on underlying operating performance, near-term catalysts, and long-term value.

SAF JARVIS

SAF provided US$120 million to catalyze a stalled equity raise and deliver a fully funded mine restart and ramp-up plan. The restart returned hundreds of jobs to local communities while providing a meaningful boost in economic activity and tax/royalty income to provincial economies.

SAF JACKSON

SAF provided $115 million to partially fund an international expansion where the domestic senior bank syndicate was unable to adequately support their client’s growth opportunities. When COVID created unprecedented short term business and financial challenges, we were able to work with our partner on a structured solution focused on the business’ long term value to achieve a positive outcome for all stakeholders.
