SAF Group is founded to invest in infrastructure credits with SAF Fund I raised and initiating deployment.

Fund II is Launched

On the success of SAF Fund I, SAF Fund II is raised and begins deployment, expanding the infrastructure credit mandate to include direct lending opportunities.

Global Mega Fund Partnership Secured

Raised significant capital from a Global Mega Fund and Fund II co-deploying into infrastructure opportunities and senior loans.

SAF Expands Investment Mandate Outside of Energy

SAF expands investment mandate outside of energy infrastructure and credit.

Built commodities trading capabilities to assist borrowers in their hedging needs.

Opportunistic Credit Platform

Investment mandate expanded to include opportunistic credits with the closing of SAF Jarvis (Mining) and SAF Jackson (Life Sciences).

SAF hits $1bn capital deployed.

SAF Growth is Formed

SAF initiate’s hedged crude trading operation, selling Canadian crude into US / international markets.

Direct Lending Expands

Expanded our direct lending presence in partnership with a leading Canadian financial institution to provide a broad suite of investment products to an expanded range of investors.

Launches First Evergreen Fund

SAF hits $2bn of capital deployed and launches its first diversified private credit mandate in partnership with AGF.

In addition, formalized Canadian pension plan mandates, pushing institutional capital to more than $1bn.

Energy Resurgence

SAF deploys over $500mm within the energy sector in Canada due to increased M&A opportunities.
